Gentlemen,

Sydenham, 11th May 1893

I understand from Mr F. Southey, Student, that he has got into trouble, has been before the Magistrate at Lambeth, and has been fined.

From all I hear I do not fancy he has been much to blame.

He is still working steadily here and has appealed against the Magistrate's judgment.

I should like to hear from you what you wish done in this matter, I fancy things should go on as they are until the appeal is settled.
